1000 Meter Repeats

15 Weeks until the NYC Marathon

Today: 10 miles
Week: 10 miles
Workout: 4 miles in Central Park @ 7:12/mile, 1 mile warm up to West Side Hwy bike path, 5x1000 meter repeats with 400 meter recovery jog. Three consecutive minutes of planks.

My times for the 1000 meter repeats were 3:20, 3:23, 2:49 (I think this one was a little short.), 2:38 (I stopped a block short.), and 3:10. We basically ran 13 blocks, 12 blocks, 12 blocks, 12 blocks, and 13 blocks and did 5-block recovery jogs.

I probably could have run a little harder, but I was saving something for the plank exercise that I knew would come after the repeats. HA! Just kidding.
